Her death was as painful to us as any other family member’s passing. When Abi brought us her completed pastel of Kelly, there was our sweet dog looking out at us exactly as we remembered her. Abi had captured her happy ‘grin’, her gentle, trusting eyes and her intelligent countenance. Kelly’s coat was thick and gleaming and she was healthy and content looking at us. We have hung the picture among the family wall portraits because, of course, that is where Kelly would expect to be — in the midst of her family.”
